Rick McCrary began as an agent in 1973 with Employers Insurance of Texas and embarked on what would become a more than 30 year career. In 1980, Rick felt that he needed to establish his own, independent, full service agency that would specialize in the church and not-for-profit arena.
To better represent his company and the work across the country, Rick joined Insurance One, L.C. as a partner in 1995, where he created, developed and introduced the center for church and not-for-profit organizations. For the past 12 years, Rick’s branch of Insurance One has expanded into offices in DeSoto,Dallas, Houston, Abilene, Bowie, Village Mills and Garland, Texas.

As an independent agent and visionary leader, Rick has consulted with more than 1,000 churches, schools, childcare centers and social organizations. He currently works with some of the largest churches and ministries across the country, carrying the understanding that he has a Biblical obligation to serve.

Rick has served his church by holding positions on the board, finance committee, treasurer, and executive building committee. He has also been involved in his community by serving for 10 years as an elected official for the City of DeSoto, Texas, a member of the Dallas County Grand Jury, and Election Precinct Judge while representing his precinct at National Conventions.

Rick has established close relationships with all of his clients and has served and built his personal and professional reputation based on this type of approach. He understands that it is not good enough to know the church insurance business and believes that when the policy is delivered that his job is just beginning.

Brandon McCrary, Agent

Brandon McCrary has been in the insurance market in Texas for the past 17 years. He is an agent with Insurance One with expertise in church and non-profit agencies, including religious organizations, churches, schools and daycares. Brandon has also spent a lot of time learning the construction industry.

This has helped him to fine-tune his abilities to evaluate a property’s worth and construction. Brandon is the second McCrary generation to serve Insurance One’s clients with character and integrity.

Brandon and his wife, Debbie, are the proud parents of three wonderful children, Jace, Kaylee & Jackson. They enjoy spending time outdoors, especially on the water.

Ray McLeod, Agent

Ray has experience in higher education, corporations, nonprofit management support and as an entrepreneur. His work in the public, private and nonprofit sectors has provided a balance of nonprofit and for-profit leadership experience.

Before joining Insurance One, Ray served as Vice President of Nonprofit Services at the Center for Nonprofit Management in Dallas, where he directed the consulting services, education and training, social enterprise, membership, nonprofit job listing services, strategic planning, market research, special projects, new product development and geographic expansion efforts of the Center. Ray is a frequent presenter and trainer at local, state and national conferences.

Ray has worked with nonprofit executives, board members and staff representing many areas of service, various budget sizes and includes nonprofits that are established as well as new and emerging. He has worked with many boards to provide training and guidance on roles and responsibilities, building and engaging boards, structuring the work of the board and strategic planning.

He represented Texas nonprofit organizations in as a delegate to the Nonprofit Congress in Washington D.C. He helped design and facilitate the 2008 Literacy Summit through his work with the North Texas Commission. During his career in higher education, Ray served on the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Enrollment Management Committee and worked on the development of the Texas Recruitment and Retention plan called Closing the Gaps. He served on the Community College Economic Impact Committee with the Texas Association of Community Colleges. Ray assisted Representative Tommy Merritt by serving on the Junior Achievement National Shootout Basketball.

Ray has served on several nonprofit boards and his volunteer experience has included fundraising and special events. Ray is currently serving on the board of Agape Christian Academy and West Dallas Community Centers.
He received his bachelor's of business administration degree in marketing from Stephen F. Austin State University and his master's of science degree in organization and management from Capella University. Ray has a Certificate in Nonprofit Management and a Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership.

Ray and his wife Belinda reside in Corsicana with their daughter, Annabelle. They are members of Believer’s Bible Church.

Brent Edwards started working for Insurance One Agency in 2004. He oversees the service of the Churches, Schools and other Nonprofit Organizations insured through Insurance One Agency.

Prior to working with Insurance One, Brent worked for a company that provided business management, life insurance, investments, tax preparation and estate and tax planning services.

Brent graduated with honors from Dallas Baptist University with a BBA degree, majoring in Finance. He and his wife Stacey, have three children and are very involved in their home church, Trinity Church in Cedar Hill, TX.

Burt Weems graduated from Oklahoma East Central University with a BS in History and Physical Education in 1956. He played college basketball for Tulsa University and Oklahoma East Central. He also played basketball for the US Army and for a semipro Team in Germany while serving as a sports director for the army.

Burt entered the field of public education where he taught science, coached and was an administrator. He served 31 years in the field of education and retired as the personnel director for Red Oak ISD.

In 1989, Burt joined Employers Casualty Insurance Company as an agent. After 2 years, he was hired to represent GuideOne Insurance to sell Auto, Home, Life and Commercial Insurance coverages.

Burt joined the Insurance One Agency team in 2003 where he services account in the Dallas metroplex as well as accounts in the Wichita Falls area.

Charles G. Odgers began his insurance career in 1957 with Gulf Insurance Company in property underwriting. After two years in the Army, Charles became a Special Agent with Continental and Royal Insurance Companies. He later became a partner with an Insurance Agency in DeSoto, merging with First Insurance Unlimited. He then sold his agency to Insurance One Agency in 1989.

After 50 years in the Insurance Industry, Charles is still actively producing Commercial Property and Casualty Lines.
